About the Event

What is Vin/Yin?

Our Vin/Yin class will begin with Power Yoga - to warm your body, inspire you intention, and lubricate your joints - and end with Restorative Yoga - to allow you to get deep into poses, let go of tension, and calm your mind. You can expect more attention from your instructor, descriptive cues, and fewer demos. During the Yin portion of class there may be opportunities for the instructor to share readings or guided meditation, to help you journey into relaxation, mindfulness and contemplation, while soaking in the physical benefits of the asana.

Environment, clothing and props:

Set the mood! It is a great idea to light candles or incense, play some soft music (the instructor will not play music for this class), and request others in your home to kindly respect your quiet time and space. Wear comfortable clothing - you may wish to dress in some light layers, or keep a blanket nearby. You will need a yoga mat and props for the Yin portion of class - blocks and a bolster if you have them, or a couple of firm pillows will work if you don't. Definitely have those within reach!

About your instructor
