I think we can all agree that this has been a hell of a week! I started back at work on Wednesday and it has been exciting to get out of the house and so fun to see my colleagues and students - it's also a lot to juggle!! It makes me so happy to be back at LSF, teaching to bodies in space together, feeling that amazing group energy and makes me hopeful for our future. I am also excited about the important, necessary, long overdue shift in humanity that is happening right now to demand change and support the #blacklivesmatter movement. Racism exists. Black people are being killed. It cannot be tolerated. Proceeds from my classes this week will be donated to the ACLU. It's not enough, but it's a little contribution from our tribe to say we stand in solidarity with this movement as anti-racists.
Today I am offering 3pm Yoga Sculpt. This will be a 30 min class on what would have been Breonna Taylor's 26th birthday - we celebrate strength, commitment and fortitude. Breonna was an EMT worker - she showed up for others in their time of critical need and gave them care and support. She was awoken in the middle of the night, shot 8 times and killed in her own bedroom by police who raided the wrong house. This is a pay what you can donation based class for charity. It will be filmed if you can't make it live.
The 12pm class is cancelled today due to zero enrollment. But I hope to see you at 3pm! Stay strong my friends. I lean on your for support in this stressful time of transition and transformation, and I invite you to lean back on me.
